How to use

Mount a compatible XF lens or use the included 15–45 mm kit lens. Power on the camera and select shooting mode: use AUTO for automatic exposure and subject detection, or manual/exposure-priority modes to use physical dials for shutter speed, aperture (on lenses with aperture rings) and exposure compensation. Choose a Film Simulation using the dedicated top-plate dial for instant in-camera color rendering. Use the tilting touchscreen for composing at waist level or high/low angles and touch the subject on the LCD to engage tracking in AF-C Wide/Tracking AF. For video, select the desired recording format (6.2K, 4K/60p or high-speed 1080/240p) and enable F-Log or F-Log2 if a wider dynamic range is needed for grading.

Usage recommendations

For sharp handheld images in low light, enable IBIS and use a moderate ISO; set ISO 125 when maximum dynamic range is required. When recording video intended for color grading, record in F-Log2 or F-Log to preserve highlights and shadows. Use the Film Simulation dial to preview colour character in-camera and combine grain or clarity adjustments for creative looks. For fast-moving subjects, select AF-C with Wide/Tracking AF and confirm with touch tracking on the LCD.
